Harvey Comic’s cartoon character Little Dot (Dot Polka was her “real” name) was a little girl with a one track mind obsessed with dots, spots and round objects of most any type. She first appeared in the September 1949 issue of Harvey’s Sad Sack (a comic about the misadventures of an army private) as a backup feature. Originally she wasn’t obsessed with dots and was drawn in a different style. The cartoon character became popular and in 1953 she was featured in her own comic, Little Dot.
